Job Details: Resident Rolling Stock Team Leader (india)

Our client is an international engineering consultant who have recently won several projects as Project Manager on several metro lines in India.

Within an international and Indian project team, the resident Rolling stock Team Leader is in charge of:

        Managing a local team of three rolling stock engineers;

        Evaluating the bids (*) and assisting the Owner in the preferred bidder and negotiating the contract ;

        Managing the supervision and monitoring of the rolling stock contractor: day-to-day contract management, design review, interface management, supervision of manufacturing, installation, tests & commissioning;

        Reporting to the System Project Manager;

        Liaising with other Project Managers in charge of other rail systems: track, power supply, signalling/telecom...

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

        Senior engineer in rolling stock, MRT preferably, with at least 10 years experience in a similar position. Successful references of technical management of rolling stock procurement contracts will be appreciated

        Graduation : Minimum BSc

        Full command of written and spoken English.

        Experience in developing countries as well as attachments to training/research centres or chartered professionals will be appreciated.

CONTRACT CONDITIONS:

        Duration: at least 18 months

        Mobilization date: March 2010

        Work place: Chennai (India)

        Working on a contract basis (one year renewable contract)

        Remuneration: 11,500 - 13,500 USD net (AFTER TAXES) per month for 20 working days on average (depending on the level of expertise)

        Local accommodation and use of a car with driver are directly paid by the Company
